Blog Assignment Number Three- Yash Mitter

Yash Mitter

One of the criteria for my major was my interest in sports. From my early childhood, I have always had a passion for sports. If I could not play professional sports, I would like to be involved in sports in some way. That is why I chose Sports Management as my major. This is basically the business side of sports. For example, I would deal with ticket pricing, stadium renovations, and management of salary space. The sports management courses that I am currently taking are sports finance and sports economics. I found the information pertaining to this major on the Kennesaw State web site. I selected Kennesaw State over the University of Georgia because of the proximity to my house. It is a thirty minute commute from my house. I would have not known that Kennesaw State has the sports management program without the help of the website. I now know that Kennesaw State is the place for me to be successful. I am excited to continue my journey to a degree, and eventually go to graduate school at either Emory, Kennesaw, or Ohio University. There are many job opportunities that are available to sports management majors, like marketing, recreational, and professional sports team opportunities. I am excited to see what is in store for me. I hope to go to graduate school to further my expertise in the sports management field. I am finally excited that I have the opportunity to work in a field that I am passionate about.

  1. It is amazing that you actually identified your passion and are determined to follow it. It was always a struggle for me, knowing what career to choose. I'm a strong believer that when there's passion involved, the chances of succeeding are multiplied. I did not know that KSU actually offered that major. It's amazing to me how the school grew so much since the first time I enrolled, back in 2003. Not only major wise but most definitely in size. It's taking over the city of Kennesaw!
I wish you the best of luck on your journey, I am certain you will do great things!

  2. Wow. I've not met very many people who seems to have known for such a long time what their passion was. So many of us search but you knew right away and you were determined to go forward regardless if you could play sports or not. Best of luck on your journey.

  3. I wish I knew what I wanted to do from the start like you. It stinks taking classes knowing that they aren't specific for your major. I actually looked into sports management when I was flirting around with majors because I have been involved with sports my whole life. I spent my first two years at college playing lacrosse. Hope things work out for the best for you.
